Teaches middle school language arts students according to State and School standards.

Utilizes a range of research-based classroom and instructional best practices that support scholar independence, collaboration, & choice.
Provides scholars specific, actionable feedback that promotes mastery of self and gradelevel standards.
Asks questions that promote critical thinking, activate prior knowledge & experiences, and support scholars with reaching the daily content objective.
Provides scholars with warranted & appropriate accommodations.
Utilizes technology & media to appropriately build scholars’ content knowledge & enhance learning experiences.

Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with all Odyssey stakeholders.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional learning, and extracurricular/school related activities.
Participates in ongoing professional learning opportunities & works with school administrators to identify relevant professional learning opportunities. Demonstrates mastery of related content knowledge, instructional practices, and materials for course(s) taught.
Utilizes lesson plans that are aligned to current state and district standards, adopted curricular materials, and learning objectives that support scholars with building gradelevel content knowledge and skills.
Engages scholars with a variety of formative and summative assessments and uses data to prepare for upcoming lessons.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the site administrator. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related. Possess Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.
